About Kate Themel:

Kate Themel is an award-winning artist and quilt teacher living in Cheshire, Connecticut. Kate's style is influenced by her formal training in fine arts, which she studied at the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. After graduation, Kate spent 10 years working in the corporate world, while keeping an artistic dream alive by creating quilts and paintings.
After surviving cancer at age 33, Kate decided to focus her time and energy on the things that make her truly happy. In 2004, Kate left her corporate job and started "Square One" Design. Kate's quilts have received awards in several juried quilt shows and have been exhibited all over the United States and abroad in quilt shows, museums, corporate office settings as well as private collections.
