About James Brunelle:

His works of clay simply have identity of their own usually in the form of a ceremonial vessel. Some Raku and pit fired, others oxidation and reduction fired.

Keeping his eternal vision alive with respect to a calling in clay, he is also found painting with acrylics, oils, pastels, and pencils working in the open air of an urban carport.

His daily drive takes him to places within his work encountering many inspirations along the way. Listening to the ramble of a creek, the roar of a school bus burning rubber, or the bark of dogs holding court on a patio above he squints into the light of the Sun and is continually humbled by the discoveries of working spontaneously. Recognizing that energy creates color and resonates with vibrancy, which cannot be contained for more than a moment.

Currently working with the Farmington Valley Arts Center, Jim’s additional professional experiences include teaching ceramics at the Truro Center of the Arts at Castle Hill, Truro, MA, and numerous outreach inner city youth programs.

Mr. Brunelle will be showing samples of his work and will direct a hands-on demonstration using clay.
